  1. Check your internet/network connection 

Instagram requires a strong and stable internet connection to perform well. With good WiFi or mobile data network connection, you can easily upload or watch reels, photos, videos, or reels on Instagram. You should switch to a better internet network if you are facing the issue. As far as possible, avoid accessing public Wi-Fi networks as they are overloaded. 

  1. Restart your smartphone 

Restarting the smartphone can help you get rid of this issue.

To restart your Android phone, you need to:

  • Press the side button, which is usually below the Volume button.

To restart your iPhone, you can

  • Scroll down to General after opening the Settings app on your device. 
  • Choose Date & Time and fix them. 

To check and correct Date & Time on an Android phone, you need to 

  • Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
  • Scroll down to System. 
  • Click on Date & Time. 
  • Toggle the button towards the right, which is next to Set time automatically.  
  1. Update Your Instagram App 

Some of you may not be updating apps on your Android phones or iPhones regularly. You should update your mobile apps from a respective app store for a better user experience. To update the Instagram app on your device, you need to:

  • Open the App Store or Google Play Store. 
  • Type Instagram in the search bar. 
  • See whether the latest version is available.
  • Update the app if you find an updated version. 
  • Open the app and try to load the home page as you update it. 
  1. Disable Data Saver Mode 
  • Go to the Settings and Privacy option after opening the Instagram app on your device. 
  • Choose the option, Data Usage and Media Quality. 
  • Toggle the button towards the left to disable data saver mode. The toggle button is next to the Data Saver  
  1. Disable VPN

An active VPN connection may cause you to have a feed refresh error on the Homepage of your Instagram app. You should disable the VPN on your device and try to refresh the feed. 

  1. Reinstall Instagram 

Move ahead to install the Instagram app again on your device if the above-mentioned steps do not work for you. To reinstall the app on your device, you need to:

  • Tap on the app info menu and choose Uninstall on your Android phone. 
  • Choose the Remove App option after doing a long tap on the Instagram app on your iPhone. Click on the Delete app to uninstall it. 

As you complete the uninstallation, visit the respective app store and download and install the app on your smartphone. Start accessing the app again by following the on-screen instructions.       

Note – Some of the above-mentioned steps may not work based on your smartphone models and brands.
