9 Best Ways to Fix Scratches on Phone Screen

A smartphone is a part and parcel of our day-to-day life. We take utmost care of our Android mobile or iPhone to keep it safe and new. However, taking it out of our pocket, placing it on a surface at home/office, or keeping it with other things makes our smartphone have scratches on its screen as not every phone has gorilla glass protection. 

As you see scratches on the screen making your Android smartphone or iPhone odd, you want to fix it. Some of you do it easily while some have to struggle a lot. It happens as some of you do not know how to fix scratches on the phone screen. Here are some quick fixes for your assistance:

Apply toothpaste, but not gel-based toothpaste

Step 1: Take some amount of toothpaste from the tube on a small cotton swab or clean cotton cloth piece. 

Step 2: Rub the cloth or cotton swab on the entire phone screen gently. Keep the rub direction circular. Please, keep rubbing the screen until the scratches disappear. 

Step 3: Use a damp cloth piece to wipe off your phone screen to remove any excess toothpaste. 

Step 4: Apply toothpaste only if your phone has a plastic screen guard.

Use baby powder

Step 1: Take out some powder from the jar. 

Step 2: Add some water to it to make a paste. Be careful and let water not damage your smartphone. 

Step 3: Apply the paste throughout the screen. 

Step 4: Keep applying this paste until you see the scratches have disappeared

Utilize magic erasers

Step 1: Take a magic eraser you have come across through advertisements on TV or the Internet. 

Step 2: Gently rub the eraser throughout your phone screen. Be careful as magic erasers have surfaces like sandpaper. 

Step 3: Stop rubbing the magic eraser if you notice any wear signs on the device screen.   

Step 4: Be careful in selecting a magic eraser, especially in terms of size. Get one of the adequate size. 

Rely on drill grinders or sandpaper

Step 1: Think about using drill grinders or sandpaper if your phone screen has stubborn scuffs.

Step 2: Start rubbing sandpaper or drill grinders on the phone edges, instead of the screen directly. It will make the harsh edges of your phone smooth. 

Apply baking soda with water

Step 1: Mix two parts baking soda and one part water in a small to mid-sized bowl. 

Step 2: Keep mixing both water and baking soda until it changes into a thick paste. 

Step 3: Dab a soft clean cloth piece on this prepared paste and apply the cloth piece on your device screen. Keep the direction circular. 

Step 4: Use a cotton ball or clean cloth piece to remove excess paste from the screen. 

Use vegetable oil

Step 1: Take a cotton ball or microfiber cloth piece.

Step 2: Dip it in a vegetable oil jar or pour some amount of vegetable oil on the cotton ball/cloth piece. 

Step 3: Move the cotton ball in a circular direction on your phone screen. 

Step 4: Use a clean cloth piece to wipe out the phone screen. Keep in mind it is a temporary solution. You should apply a screen guard on your phone for more safety.

Apply Silvo, Brasso, or other polishes

Step 1: Take a clean bowl and pour some amount of polish into it. 

Step 2: Dip a cotton ball or microfiber cloth in the bowl.

Step 3: Move the cloth piece or cotton ball up and down on the phone screen in circular motions. 

Step 4: Wipe off the screen with a clean cloth piece. 

Utilize potassium aluminum sulfate and egg

Step 1: Take a saucepan and place one teaspoon of potassium aluminum sulfate and one egg white into it. 

Step 2: Place the saucepan on a stove, gas, or eclectic flame and heat it up to 66 degrees Celsius. 

Step 3: Take a cotton ball and soak it in the mixture of egg white and potassium aluminum sulfate. 

Step 4: Place the cotton or microfiber cloth with the mixture on aluminum foil. 

Step 5: Place the foil in the microwave and heat it until it becomes moisture-free.

Step 6: Take out the cloth or cotton and rinse it thoroughly under running tap water for 20-30 seconds. 

Step 7: Let the cloth rest for a while and let it dry in the air for 48 hours. 

Step 8: Now, apply the cloth to the phone screen scratches. Be gentle while applying the cloth/cotton ball.

Step 1: Take some amount of car scratch removal cream on a clean and soft cloth piece. 

Step 2: Wipe the phone screen from the top to the bottom with the cloth. 

Step 3: Keep your pressure gentle while wiping your phone screen with the cloth piece.
